Friends of Fishponds Always (FoFA)

The Friends of Fishponds Always (FoFA) is a friendly group of parents, carers, staff and family members who support pupils at Fishponds CE Primary School. Their aim is to strengthen the school community and enhance every child’s experience.

FoFA helps by:

• Raising funds for resources, playground improvements, enrichment activities and special projects.
• Bringing families together through events that help everyone feel part of school life.
• Enhancing learning by supporting extra opportunities and experiences for pupils.
• Building connections so parents and carers can meet, share ideas and make new friends.

FoFA is open to everyone who would like to get involved and make a positive difference.

Each year group has its own dedicated FoFA representative. These volunteers act as a friendly point of contact for families, helping to keep everyone informed and connected. One of their main roles is to run a year‑group WhatsApp community, where they share updates about upcoming FoFA events, fundraising activities, and opportunities to get involved. They also post useful reminders about school communications to help families stay organised throughout the year.

The WhatsApp groups are a simple and supportive way for parents and carers to stay in touch, ask questions, and feel part of the wider school community.

If you would like to join your child’s year‑group WhatsApp, just speak to your child’s class teacher. They will be happy to provide the details and help you get connected.

FoFA aims to meet once a month, usually for an informal and relaxed catch‑up. These gatherings provide an opportunity for parents and carers to come together, enjoy a cuppa, and chat about ideas, upcoming events, and ways to support the school. The meetings are friendly and inclusive, and there is never any pressure to commit to more than you feel comfortable with.

Parents and carers are warmly encouraged to come along, whether they have a specific idea to share, a little time to offer, or would simply like to listen and find out more. Every contribution, big or small, helps to enrich school life and supports FoFA’s ongoing efforts to create positive experiences for pupils.

FoFA believes that everyone has something valuable to bring, and the group works best when it reflects the diversity and strengths of the whole school community.
