Online Safety

Online Safety

At Fishponds CE Primary School, we are committed to keeping our children safe at all times, including when they are using the internet. Online Safety plays an essential role in our curriculum. It is taught every term across the school and revisited whenever pupils use technology to support their learning. We also take part in Safer Internet Day each February, joining millions of children and educators around the world as we work “Together for a better internet”. This annual event helps reinforce key messages about staying safe, being responsible and behaving kindly online.

To support the work we do in school, we ask parents and carers to stay informed about online safety and to help ensure children are using the internet appropriately at home. Younger children benefit from safer, child-friendly search engines such as Kiddle or Kidrex, which can reduce the risk of them accessing inappropriate content.

We want all parents and carers to feel confident discussing online safety, spotting risks and knowing where to go for help. If you ever have questions or concerns, please speak to a member of our Safeguarding Team or your child’s class teacher. If you are worried about your own online safety, you are also welcome to talk to a trusted adult in school. Our safeguarding team is always here to help.
